meh

the fighting sequences was too close to super mario bro z. You had one major problem that you kept repeating and you need to stop doing it. DON'T zoom in so much those pixels. Nothing is defined whatsoever. If you really want to zoom in on the character so much then have the background appear farther away so everything isn't so damn pixelated that you can't make anything out. Sound fx were alright and it was a decent choice of music. Over all needs more work and creativity so just keep working at it.

As I told the guy below, the fighting was nowhere near like SMBZ. Just because I had more than two people fighting with a few camera shakes does not mean it was SMBZ stylish.

If you look at this and SMBZ episodes you can easily tell this was nowhere near like it.

As for creativity, I think I was a bit creative in the whole power-up thing so I give myself credit for that.

i don't know about this one

I think this is one of those animations you either find it funny or you don't. I didn't really care for it mainly because of the voices. They all seemed more annoying to me rather then being funny :(. The animation was unique and refreshing. Overall good effort but it just wasn't my taste. Keep working at it

I agree with twist

this flash didn't stand out against any other average sprite movie. I'm a sprite fan so im going to give you some tips on how you can improve your quality for future ones. First things first id say increase your fps because all this seemed way to slow. When you motion tween you should really use the ease effect. It looks more natural for slowing down and speeding up objects. Next you should export your movie differently. I noticed the sound quality was choppy so you can easily improve it. When your in flash go to file - publish settings - go to tab flash - then change the audio stream to a better quality. You don't have to max the quality out because that makes your filesize much larger but you can atleast make it better. Another thing is your zooming in problem. You tend to zoom in a lot on all the sprites and even the backround looks too pixelated. You should put more depth into your fighting scenes. You can see more if you zoom out more rather then having two objects standing next to eachother fighting rapidly. This sounds easy to do but people usually forget when you have any sort of power up or charge you should motion tween the screen up and down or left and right a little. Such a little thing improves the effect so much so just play with that. Other then the tips i just gave you i can't think of any more obvious ways that you can improve your flash your just going to have to experiment a little :P. You did have some good redeeming qualities though. You had a wide variety of sprites and your special effects were up to par. Anyways good luck wiht your future projects

what is this scottish anime?

aside from the voice acting i really enjoyed this animation. I felt like i was actually watching a tv show so its amazing quality. the artwork was awsome and it all had a 3D effect to it. I don't really understand whats going on but all i know is i can't wait to see the sequal. keep up the good work guys :D.

pretty long but not boring long

i managed to keep interest in the whole movie despite the length time so thats good. The animation had its high and low points. I'd say the artwork wasn't of higher quality but thats because there was so much frame by frame animation so it all evend out. All voice actors were good but one and that was omahdon. But it was fitting that you made him the gay blue ranger and the bitch white ranger those were very fitting roles for him. Keep up the good work this is a pretty good series you got going on here :D

interesting announcment!

I did enjoy all the nominations i felt all the submissions were worthy to be nominated for their positions. I'm not sure i agree on number 1 flash choice though. Chuck's new tux was good and unique but it's still missing elements that make an animation complete. I mean it was perfect for what harry was going for but it was a joke and not serious as apposed to there she is. That series told a serious story with charming animation and had a style that could not be matched by anyone. I know this is newgrounds and we thrive off of good funny parodies and maybe some gross humor but chucks new tux isn't exactly suitable for all ages :P as apposed to there she is everyone can appreciate. I was reading on a lot of the other reviews and one guys review kinda caught me off guard. He made a complaint about how this could be a little more professional and less casual and i'd say i have to agree. Lots of work go into these animations and people love to be rewarded for their efforts. After watching this i felt like after giving the award to the winners they were doing it as a joke and slightly insulting them. I know thats probably not tom's intent but it just came off a little weird i guess. Oh well I did enjoy tom's bit at the end there. I'm gonna go delete your emails, im going to go delete some accounts, im going to go delete your forum, I'm gonna go play some street fighter 4 lol. You've got an awsome sense of humor tom

greatest animation ever

I know im a huge fan of dbz fighting but i have to say this wasn't a complete rip of dbz only at parts. You corigraph your fighting very well and i haven't seen any other fighting animation as good as this series. You take the time to do the fbf needed and your smoke effects alwasys blow me away. I can't say how much of a pleasure it has been watching you progress from this series as the years went on and i've always enjoyed your song choices. Great series and awsome ending. It will forever be an inspiration to me as an animator and I hope to see some more stuff from you in the future :D.

I've been reading a lot of other reviews for this movie and a lot of the critics are giving it bad reviews because they don't even understand what this flash was even about. Instead of a parody about video games he simply changed it to anime. I even read a comment about a guy complaining that you didn't lip sync the voices properly..... Well that guy is a moron and didn't realize that THAT was a part of the joke. Lots of the english dubbed anime aren't synced properly because they can't translate it to english and have it sync into place properly. Everything about this flash was a great parody of all anime in general. I just wish everyone understood it more before giving it low reviews.

how to put this in perspective... Your last real legend was in 2005, its 2009 now an as for major improvements for that time period im not seeing any... not to mention any real plot development it really just dragged on. You have so much potential to tell such a good climatic comedy story but you waste it on unecessary animation and dry humor. I'm always for great animation but its not good without the other. The other meaning everything else. The sound quality wasn't that great, storyline was following the game but slow, the humor was dry(not funny) and it dragged on too long. I suggest you let someone help you write the next script for the sequal to this because it could help substantialy. With an animator of you skill you should be able to make the best of the best but your letter minor de\tails slow you down so just work on those and you should be good to go. I hope you take my advice because i don't want to wait another four years to see a sequal to this that just repeats the same old dry humor or ill be very disapointed :(

Wow i didn't know egoraptor wasn't available?

This was like a dumbed down version of any awsome video that egoraptor makes. Now when i say dumbed down you're probably wondering how thats possible because egoraptor's parodies are dumb to begin with so how can you get dumber then dumb? Well you my friend just did it. Egoraptor alteast showed little plot line and stuff that happened in the game unlike this abomination that failed to give away anything useful about the actual game other then the fact that it may be annoying or hard. This was way to random and not in a good way. I drawed the line at all the characters throwing up on eachother thats pretty much when this all got out of hand. As for the animation itself it wasn't anything above average. The art was bad but the voices were alright (which you can thank good old Harry Partridge for). All and all i think my IQ went down a couple notches after watching this and i think im going to steer away from watching any further "chris o'neill" animtations because none of them seem to be getting any better or different.
